The Militarization of Federal Agencies

Ask Congress to defund and disarm federal SWAT teams. Dozens of government agencies such as the
Department of Education, Department of Agriculture, Consumer Product Safety Commission, and the Fish and Wildlife Service have become paramilitary arms of the federal government with their own Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams.
Raids are used to intimidate harmless, often innocent citizens.  Brian Walsh, a senior legal analyst with the Heritage Foundation, says, “If these agencies occasionally have a legitimate need for force to execute a warrant, they should be required to call a real law-enforcement agency, one that has a better sense of perspective.”
