From Stimulus to Spendulus to Ridiculous

Where's Ross Perot when you need him? As of now, the economic stimulus proposal of one trillion dollars of mostly non-stimulative spending is enough to send $ 17,000 to every mortgage holder in the United States. And that would be a much better plan than what is being proposed. The question remains, though: How will this money ever be repaid?

While Republicans are voicing objections, their primary focus seems to be on how to fix the stimulus, rather than how to kill it. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senator Lindsay Graham want to add a two hundred billion dollar mortgage plan to the stimulus. Adding to the bill is not the solution. This legislative stimulus package is out of control. It is crazy. Republicans need to vote unanimously against this bill. Government cannot spend its way out of a recession. Our Republican Senators must take a bold stand for Americans who are worried about the future. Playing around the edges of this legislation is not taking a bold stand. The entire package is flawed and should be opposed. Trillions of dollars cannot just be bandied about willy-nilly. And if this stimulus package passes, next week the Democrats and the President will propose yet another huge spending solution to yet another huge problem.
Democrat "solutions" will ruin our country. As Ross Perot would say, “Stop the bleeding!” And Call your Senators!
