Resolution Thanking President George W. Bush for His Service to Our Country

WHEREAS, in 1998, the Governor of the Great State of Texas George W. Bush made the momentous decision to run for President of the United States;
WHEREAS, that decision included the every real possibility that Governor Bush would have to leave the Great State of Texas and reside in Washington, D>C>, for up to eight years;
WHEREAS, despite that sacrifice, George W. Bush answered the challenge and on January 20, 2001, was sworn in as the 43rd President of the United States;
WHEREAS, President George W. Bush has restored honor to the office of the Presidency;
WHEREAS, President Bush has dealt with unprecedented challenges such as the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and Hurricane Katrina, and has shown leadership and perseverance in the face of adversity;
WHEREAS, in January of 2009, after eight years of outstanding and sacrificial service to the country at large, President George W. Bush will once again reside full-time in the Great State of Texas, where he belongs;
RESOLVED, that the Members of the Republican National Committee would like to express our sincere gratitude to our President for his amazing courage, strength, and steadfastness during some of the most trying times in our nation’s history;
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Texas Members of the Republican National Committee, all of whom understand the sacrifice inherent in leaving Texas for even a brief amount of time, look forward to welcoming President George W. Bush back to Texas as a full-time resident, having served his country well.
