Conventional political wisdom for the past few years has been that the best thing for Republicans would be to have Hillary as the Democrat nominee. We all knew that she would galvanize people to get out and vote against her, regardless of who our nominee was. Then we started getting to know Barack a little better, and with each new revelation, it’s looking better for Republicans. This general election might even prove to be fun.
For a guy with zero experience, no legislative accomplishments, and a complete lack of understanding of foreign policy or economics, Republicans should win this one hands down. The problem is, of course, that the media will help to hide his deficits every step of the way.
Here we are in a slowing economy -- not a recession by any definition --- and Obama wants to raise taxes. His method of creating jobs is to double federal funding for basic research (not sure what he wants the government to research) and to make long-term investments (with your tax dollars) to train people so that they can get high-paying jobs. I guess the jobs will be with the federal government. We are the federal government, and we’re here to help. Seriously, pumping yet more money into government programs will only raise taxes and create yet more government bureaucracies. Go to http://www.barackobama.com/issues/economy/ and read all about it yourself.
As you read the Obama website, you’ll notice that almost all of his economic proposals use the words “invest,” “expand,” and “create.” He wants to help everyone with everything, and his solution is to use federal funds to do it.
When it comes to foreign policy, his arrogance and ignorance are astounding. Senator Obama believes, as do most Democrats, that we need only talk to our enemies. He will be able to convince them that we are their friends. He’ll probably make former President Jimmy Carter his Secretary of State, since Jimmy has such a close relationship with Hamas and other terrorists.
Of course, Obama’s long-time pastor continues to provide insight into his skewed worldview. The latest guest sermon by Father Pfleger reinforces the anti-white and racist tone of Trinity United Church of Christ’s members. The congregation cheers, dances, and applauds any statement which blames America or white people for the problems of black Americans. And Michelle Obama seems to have a huge chip on her shoulder. For a woman who has attended the best universities and has a successful career, she doesn’t seem to understand that those blessings come from living in the most prosperous country in the world; she seems to have an anti-American view that is hard to explain or understand.
In short, Senator John McCain should have no problem winning this November, if we do our jobs. We have an uphill battle against the Obama-loving media, but if Americans are paying any attention at all, they will not elect Barack Obama. Even some Democrats are waking up to the fact that Senator Obama is an extremely flawed candidate. It is up to Republicans to expose the true nature of Obama, and we must not shy away from that task. And there is a lot about Obama that we need to expose. Let’s get to work, and let’s win this election. Our country’s future depends on it.
