Horrible Harry and Nutty Nancy

The Democrats are in control of Congress, and they are showing their true colors. Unfortunately, those colors are not red, white, and blue.

My first reaction to Nancy Pelosi fraternizing with terrorists and Harry Reid pronouncing that the war in Iraq is lost was to be appalled. After all, both of these acts by American leaders of Congress border on treason. Pelosi and Reid are so partisan that they have lost all concept of what’s best for America. They are so worried about pandering to their radical far-left base and and Rosie O’Donnell that they have abandoned good old common sense.

On second thought, however, this may be the best thing that could have happened. The actions of the Democrats’ elected leaders clearly demonstrate how far from the mainstream the Democratic Party has strayed. Passing legislation that announces a date for American troop withdrawal from Iraq is insane. Democrats seem to have no concept of the consequences of their actions. The sound bite of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announcing, “I believe that the war in Iraq is lost,” while American troops are in the field needs to be played on primetime television ad infinitum during the ’08 election cycle.

Likely presidential candidate Senator Fred Thompson appeared on Hannity & Colmes this week (,2933,269631,00.html) and his reaction to the Democrats was right on target. When asked by Sean Hannity what he thought of the Dems, Thompson said that we ought to just give them a little rope and see what they do. And he is right.

Sen. Thompson also said that the very idea that Democrats would undercut our efforts in Iraq is unprecedented; that the Democrats are as near to investing in defeat of their own country as anything he’s ever seen; and he doesn’t think the American people will forgive them for that. Well said, Fred.
If the American people are paying any attention at all, they should be up in arms. Regardless of the constant poll numbers that are quoted by the Democrats to justify their anti-American behavior, I have no doubt that most citizens of our country want a victory in Iraq. And Americans expect our troops to be provided with everything that they need to win. But the Democrats are much more focused on investigating Republicans than they are on supporting our troops. Let’s pray that they stay true to form. If so, we will have our Republican majority back in no time.

It's true that the Democrats don't get it. We have to stay on the offensive in the war on terror.

Thanks for the positive comments for Senator Fred Thompson. After the Licoln Club speech, I doubt there are very many that question if he is going for the White House.

Thank you so much for your blog post of Fred Thompson's comments. Mr. Thompson is insightful and one who would be able to transcend party lines. Many of us wait ever so patiently for his announcement of entering the race.

Thank you also, Ms. McNamara, for your continued work in the RNC. You are greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Ms. McNamara for an excellent article: Americans should be stampeding to get to the press to decry the illogical actions of the dems in Congress. True Americans must stand with their President and finish what must be accomplished! We do need Fred!

I'd like to help Fred Thompson's campaign. Is there anything we can be doing right now? Is there some way to get our names on a list of people wanting to volunteer? Thanks!
