Dear Texas GOP Leaders:

As you know, there is a contested race for RPT Chair at the upcoming Republican State Convention.

In the event that Chairman Dickey prevails, I am announcing my candidacy for Vice Chair of the Republican Party of Texas.

Chairman Dickey and I are not running as a slate; however, I believe that we would make an effective team working to further the success of the Republican Party of Texas.

Many leaders for whom I have the utmost respect have encouraged me to run, including National Committeeman Dr. Robin Armstrong. I am including his endorsement in this email.

It was wonderful to see many of you at the last SREC meeting.  It's hard to believe, but my four children are grown, and we have just one son still in college, so it is a great time for me to get back to work for conservatives in Texas. Not that I've ever really stopped!

The announcement of Vice Chair Amy Clark that she would not be seeking reelection was a surprise to many including me, but I certainly understand the demands of being a home-school mom to young children. Amy is loved by all, and she has served the RPT with distinction. We will definitely miss her presence at the RPT; however, she will undoubtedly continue to serve in other capacities. Amy is a tough act to follow!

My passion for our platform has always been the driving force behind my activism. While we will never agree 100% on every plank, it is imperative that we preserve the heart and soul of our party, which is spelled out in the ten principles listed immediately following the preamble of our Texas platform.

As a small business owner, I also look forward to approaching the work of the Republican Party of Texas with an analytical eye, focusing on recruiting candidates, raising money, GOTV, and strengthening the infrastructure of the party.

Making America Great Again is not possible unless we Keep Texas Great. As Texas goes, so goes the United States. The Democrats are targeting Texas, and we are under assault on every front. While we have enjoyed great success over the past decade, we must not become complacent.

I ask for your support and your prayers as we head into the state convention. Thank you for all that you do, and I look forward to seeing you in San Antonio!

For Texas,

Denise McNamara

Nat'l Committeeman Robin Armstrong Endorses Denise McNamara

It is indeed an honor to have the endorsement of Dr. Robin Armstrong, our Texas National Committeeman. Robin has served as Vice Chair in the past, and he understands that we need an experienced conservative in this position.

I look forward to working with Robin and Chairman Dickey to Keep Texas Great!

Our Texas GOP Platform, and Why I Love It

As a proud member of the 2016 Texas GOP Platform Committee, I would like to address the drumbeat, brought up by #TheAmazingDocGreene, that many in the RPT would like to shorten our platform.

Our system of bottom-up, grassroots involvement enables anyone who votes in our primary to attend his or her precinct convention and submit a resolution (with 3 copies).

That resolution then is reviewed at the Senatorial District level, and if it passes muster, goes on to the state platform committee.

This system gives a voice to everyone in the base of the party, rather than a top-down, elitist mentality of “leadership knows best.”

That is what I love about the Republican Party of Texas, and why the system that we have is so great.

If you want brevity, simply refer to the Ten Principles enumerated following the preamble. That is the meat of the platform. The rest is always well and thoroughly debated and to eliminate it would be to eliminate the participation of our 9000+ delegates, comprising the largest political convention in the world.

So, in my opinion, the grassroots rules.

PRINCIPLES
We, the 2016 Republican Party of Texas, believe in this platform and expect our elected leaders to uphold these truths through acknowledgment and action. We believe in:

“The laws of nature and nature’s God” and we support the strict adherence to the original language and intent of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitutions of the United States and of Texas.
The sanctity of innocent human life, created in the image of God, which should be protected from fertilization to natural death.
Preserving American and Texas sovereignty and freedom.
Limiting government power to those items enumerated in the United States and Texas Constitutions.
Personal accountability and responsibility.
Self-sufficient families, founded on the traditional marriage of a natural man and a natural woman.
Having an educated population, with parents having the freedom of choice for the education of their children.
The inalienable right of all people to defend themselves and their property.
A free enterprise society unencumbered by government interference or subsidies.
Honoring all of those that serve and protect our freedom.

Mueller's Ongoing Outrageous Witch Hunt

This is getting beyond ridiculous.

Special Prosecutor Mueller has raided the offices of President Trump's personal attorney, Michael Cohen. http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/382341-fbi-raids-trump-lawyers-office

Evidently Mueller is looking for information on the purported payment from Cohen to porn star Stormy Daniels. And anything else he can possibly find.

How would that have anything to do with Mueller's original mandate to investigate possible collusion between the President and Russia?

Mueller is truly pushing the boundaries of his legal role beyond anything we have seen in American history.

He is blatantly engaging in a partisan witch hunt, evidently with the approval of Rod Rosenstein and even Jeff Sessions. When will our Attorney General realize that his recusal does not mean that he can stand by and allow this farce to continue. When will Rosenstein be fired?

President Trump's attorneys, aides, and advisors insist that Mueller cannot be fired by the President. Why not? The Department of Justice is part of the executive branch, which is, after all, under the purview of the President of the United States. They serve his administration, not the other way around.

It is time to clean house. In the White House there are leakers. In the deep state there are still never-Trump activists. And in the Department of Justice and the FBI, there are determined enemies of President Trump who have and seem to still be plotting ways to overthrow his election.

Pray for President Trump and his ability to defeat this multi-tentacled enemy.

Denise McNamara for Vice Chair

As our current Vice Chairman Amy Clark has announced her decision to retire at the end of her term, we will be electing a new vice chair for the next two years at our state convention.

Our rules dictate that if a male chairman is elected, the vice chairman must be a female.

James Dickey, our current Chairman, has done an outstanding job in his short tenure, and he will be running for re-election at this next convention.

At the request of many friends throughout the state, I have decided to throw my hat in the ring for Vice Chair. And I'm doing it somewhat earlier than the last time I ran. Instead of three days, I'm giving myself eight weeks. :)

There may well be other candidates, but thus far there are none of which I'm aware.

At this last weekend's SREC meeting, I received great support and encouragement from many of our SREC members, and I thank them all.

Please let me know if I can count on your support. My cell is 972-795-5118, and my email is denisemcnamara@sbcglobal.net.

I look forward to hearing from you all.
